Wow. I got pissed off about the issues I'm having with my Rocksmith build, so I decided to play a game.
I bought Wolfenstein: The New Order. LOVE IT. It's single player only, though. It's kind of an interactive movie. Very gritty, a serious alternative-history WWII game. In older games, you'd learn the story by finding books, overhearing guards, enemies smack-talking you as you fought. In this, you actually talk with people a fair bit. Cut scenes, with interesting characters and good story. Though there is a also some really kick-ass action - it's just wrapped around conversations with resistance fighters, civilian families, etc.
$9.99. Kinda wanted it to go down to to $5, but it was taking it's sweet time, so I bit. The gameplay reminds me of old-school shoot-em-ups, but better. Kind of in the vein of DOOM, as much as I've seen of DOOM, anyway. There's another Wolfenstein game out recently: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. It's supposed to be good as well, though not as good as The New Order. I may pick it up - I'll wait until the last days of the sale, though. Maybe I'll get DOOM instead. Wolfenstein has my juices flowing for old-time gaming. It's a gateway drug for DOOM.
Been up all night playing Wolfenstein, and I have a doctor's appt in the morning. Kind of reminds me of when I got my C-64, and the first night I stayed up all night playing the original Castle Wolfenstein on a school night.
