Yeah, I've TRIED (not always succeeding) to be more careful about my Amazon purchases. There are shady ppl there in the margins, looking to make a quick buck dishonestly. Several years back, I was surprised to learn I hadn't bought from Amazon, but someone selling on Amazon. I hadn't previously been aware that was a thing, I thought if I bought from Amazon, I was buying from them.

Drives arrived yesterday. Ordered on Friday, got them Monday. All the bags are sealed. Checked them with smart. All drives clear with zero writes, zero boots, and zero hours of use. Serial numbers match the label. These appear to be the real deal. All good brand new drives.

The link he posted in the OP. We were talking about this in TS, and I asked him to post, as I know Lexx always seems to be in the market for more storage. Didn't think this would be up your alley, but if it helps you too, great.

Well, drives are in the server now. Detected and added to the drive pool fine. Saddly ZFS does not auto-balance VDEV's after pool extensions. So, in chunks I will have to do it manually. Kind of a pain, but that is a feature in development.

I ordered two more of these today. Can I ask, what do you use to test the drives for being new or used? Windows 10 hopefully.
I already installed two in my NAS server, is there a way to test those too?

I'm also wondering if these would run well in my eSata 4 drive external bay. I've had doubts before about the power supply in that but would be nice to just load it with all 4 3t drives.

You can this if you want easy two-click operation. I normally use linux commands or Windows PowerShell commands.
