Remastered version of the game from 1999. I used to like it. I'm tempted to pick it up, but I've been looking HARD for new games the past few weeks, just haven't found anything I like. Reluctant to buy it. Almost bought 2-3 other games, but I got a chance to try them using Xbox's gamepass, and I didn't like them. Saved me some money there.

Still, i used to like the old version, and this is the cheapest I've seen it. Also has multiplayer mode, but I don't know much about it.

I'll think about it.

I mean I know of Battlezone when we had that vector game wayyyyyy back in the day.
I did not know they re-vamped it.

There is also one called Battlezone 98 Redux?? Is that the one you meant? The 98 redone one is newer? I am confused but that one is not on sale, added to my wish list.

Battlezone: Combat Commander looks fun. I bought it just to have.

Are we getting that other game you mentioned, Quest Hunter? It is still on sale until the 25th.

Sad that my main gaming time will be starting on Dec 18 when my X-MAS vacation starts. Of course that is when Doc's operation is. Sheesh.

Yeah, EVERY GODDAMN CHRISTMAS I have to have my nether regions cut open. Well, except last year, I just had the broken back and removed colon.

I'll still be around for gaming, but the pain is terribly distracting. Puts me on edge, like having way, way too much caffeine. I have that now, though I expect it to be worse after the operation. Hard to say. It hurts a lot now, and the operation might immediately relieve some pain and pressure, offsetting the pain from the wound. I'm honestly not sure what the pain is from though, it might be from my spine, radiating out.

I dont' think I'll buy Quest Hunter- looks a little TOO simple. I was up for it, but at the end of one of the review videos, as the credits rolled, they showed the game character just hitting something with a sword over and over and over again, for like 30 seconds. If I have to hit inanimate objects for 30 seconds or more, that doesn't seem like fun.

I'll give the Battlezone Commander game a good think. Been wanting to get back into a game like that, been thinking about it for a few years now actually, that's why they were on my wish list. Might buy it. I've been just about DESPERATE for a new game, and cannot find a game I want to play. That's why I'm back to the Battlefield games. They're still good games, and nothing has come along that's better.

You know, I should write the reviewer, because that's just a thing he put at the end without explanation. I wonder if it's scenery you're not supposed to hit, or a practice dummy or something. That one thing made me say, "Fuck it." The review showed a lot of sword-swinging, but nothing to that degree. It scared me off though.

I have both the original and the remaster of Battlezone. It is a bit hard at times, but good fun. Never played multiplayer on it.

Gotta watch these real old games. They don't play nice with Windows 10. I bought the Doom 3 series and it just lags like hell. Didn't look bad, but just isn't playable. Pisses me off I missed it when it was out for the right hardware/software. Oh well, sigh.

Yeah Lexx but it also could be something on your system man. Seriously you are always having issues with stuff. ORIGIN for example. I don't trust your results to be a data point.

Anyway Lexx and Prophet, for $5 let's give this a try what the hell.

No issues on Windows or Linux with the Doom3 pack on my rig.

REally?/? It just stutters on my i7. I've tried all the compatibility settings. Upsetting cause I really wanted to play it ;p

For what it's worth Doom 3 played fine for me on Windows 10. I fired it up on Windows 10 to play the final expansion pack. There's got to be a configuration issue somewhere... not saying it'll be easy to find though cuz it could be in the game config, a windows setting, an old chipset driver, a video driver setting, etc. Really the single biggest drawback to gaming on a PC vs a console.

Battlezone: Combat Commander looked intriguing to me, until I looked through my existing Steam library of unplayed games. It's going to take me years to work through what I already bought and haven't gotten to yet.

Many of my Steam games are from Humble Bundle I bought for just one game. I don't even want to play some of mine, so I'm not gonna chain myself to them and waste my life worrying about it. Time's too short to play bad games.
