Amazon Prime Day (and a half) July 16-17

Usually a bunch of random stuff on sale, like they're clearing slow-moving inventory. Thought I'd pass on the info anyway, for anyone else who has Prime now. Got it around last Black Friday, helped me a LOT over the many days I was too sick to get out to buy stuff I need around the house. Shipped all kinds of strange household stuff - liquid laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc. I'm hoping that by next Black Friday, I won't be needing to do stuff like that any more.

I've been in the market for a compact power strip/USB charger, with about 4 charge outlets for power and USB. Something like this with 2.4A available to the USB ports.

Maybe I'll get a deal.

I'm also interested in trying out Sous Vide cooking. I'll need an immersion heater for that. Maybe I'll find a good deal on Prime Day.

Yeah I have been thinking about that myself for about a year or more now. Read a lot on it, have a few items on my wish lists for it etc...
I have that same link in my bookmarks. i :) i

Never got the heater yet.

I like the idea of quick and easy obviously.

This is the one I want. if that goes on sale maybe I will take the plunge myself. We can dweeb on it.
Sheesh I added that back in Jan of 2016. Been thinking about it longer than I remembered. i :) i

I asked on another board, and the Anova is well-loved. Think I'd spend the extra $8 and get wifi over bluetooth though, as I don't even see the reason for bluetooth. With wifi I guess you can control it from anywhere, so it might be useful to change the settings while you're out somewhere.

I'd rather pay much less and not have Bluetooth or wifi though. Doesn't look like I'm getting anything in this thread, though, not for awhile. Gotta watch my money. Solidarity, Lurch!

I would also get the Wi-Fi one. Thought that was what I linked. Oops. i :) i

I already have the food vacuum sealer that I use all the time.

Okay so since Amazon Prime day may be Monday here is some advice.

First get the Amazon app for your devices. Set up notifications on it.
This will help you see any good deals like flash deals.

I just want a new paper shredder. I have killed a few and I told the wife I am getting a real one this time. So, basically an office shredder. The cheap home ones suck. I have spent as much replacing them as one nice one would have cost me.

This is the one I am looking at.

That is a good one. Worth having for sure.

Funny I rarely use mine anymore. I just toss the stuff in the trash, I don't care. Let them get a hold of CC offers. I don't put my mortgage in the trash though. I have most accounts now online only so don't get a lot of paper, just utilities and a few things. I doubt anyone looks through my trash on trash day and I seriously doubt they look at it wherever they dump it. i :) i

I should use it more though.

Toying g with getting one of these. Need something better for hospital stays, doctor trips to Nashville, and maybe to carry colostomy supplies in the future.

got a bunch on my wish list to see if any go down on PRIME Day. Not sure on size though. Think 15 or 16 inch is too small, and I worry 18 inch is too big...

Funny I have been actually looking at bags myself.

I was using one called The Bag OF Holding from thinkgeek
Mine is the old model but I like it, it holds a lot. I used it for years. The main zipper finally started doing the not zipping properly thing so I want back to my original leather bag.
It is fine for now. It is not a messenger bag though an I have grown to really like Messenger bags style. That is why I replaced it before.

Anyway the Bag Of Holding is really nice. Thought of getting the new version on and off.
Only thing I didn't like about the old version was the strap is permanently attached. I like the option of remove it if I want.
Seems the new version is removable.

Link to new version.

If you want a bag that holds a lot and is not huge in of itself I recommend it.

I do like the look of the bag you posted. I will look into that a bit more.

This one looks cool but a bit pricey. .

Bag of holding is interesting. Think I can get a nicer messenger bag for about the same price if I look for deals, though - ones with real leather. On the other hand, there's something to be said for a smallish, nondescript bag.

Here are a couple messenger bags I'm keeping an eye on:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071QY55YZ/?c ... _lig_dp_it

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KS9OYTK/?c ... _lig_dp_it

I SHOULD just get the canvas one I posted about up above, good price, good reviews, and Fakespot says teh reviews are trustworthy. Probably won' find better at near that price. The leather ones look nice, but they might attract more attention than the canvas one.

I have an alert set up on Slick Deals for messenger bags and shredders, and I should get notice if my wish list stuff goes on sale. Folks who subscribe to threads here might want to subscribe to this one for the next couple days. I'm not posting all over the place to get ppl's attention, not with this damn tablet.

Been wanting a messenger bag for years. Seeing a real need for quite awhile. This recent trip to the hospital drilled it home, though. I'm living out of a shaving kit bag and a nylon gym bag I bought 20 years ago for $2 at a flea market. Think I got my money's worth out of that.

If you're a PRIME member, you can get $5 off a $25 purchase directly from Amazon.com (sold and fulfilled) by installing the Amazon Assistant.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/BIT/aapromo?i ... Code=a0050

Try certain camera features from the Amazon Assistant APP AFTER NOON MONDAY, and save $5 off certain Prime Day deals. Might help you, might not.

The Bluetooth one would be fine dude, It will sync the same and you won't ever be more than 30 feet away from it while it cooks. i :) i

BTW the Wi-Fi one is $108 right now. Good price. Tempted....very tempted...
