Spotify for 3 months - 99 cents

SlickDeals thread

I never used it, but I signed up. Trying new things. At the end of the trial, they will charge $9.99 a month, witch is too much by my thinking, but maybe I'll find other deals to reduce that, or just use the free version.

Only reason I don't use Spotify, no TOOL. I can't use a service that lacks my favorite band.

I am also a HUGE Tool fan! They are my favorite group of the 90's. Only got to see them once though.
I have all of their CD's. I frekin LOVE them!

Danny Carey is one of my all time favorite drummers. He is a complete nut job but an awesome drummer. i :) i

For the record you cannot blame Spoitify for not having them, or any band, on the service. It is a licensing issue. If bands don't allow them to play their music, nothing Spotify can do.

It is not like Spotiy purposely hates them or anything. heheh i :) i

BTW check out "Legend Of The Seagullmen." Danny is their drummer for a side project. Prog rock. Weird but cool.

OK, this is a request for a "deal wanted". I never messed with streaming music before, but I'm kind of liking this. The problem was, I was using the free versions, When can control everything and skip however much I want, it;s a lot more interesting to me.

I don't really want to pay for it though. :(

Any Spotify deals anyone bumps into, let me know. I'll see if I can set up an alert on Slick Deals forums.

Give the iHeart radio app a try. You pick stations but they have a lot.
I listen to the 24/7 comedy station all the time.
I like to laugh.

Any spotify deals I will pass along and you do the same.

I'll do both, thanks.

The deal that was listed above was a good one. . . would like a nice discount on a yearly sub. I have a deal alert up on Slick Deals. My best bet, but it might take a month or two.

I haven't tried the iheartradio yet. guess I'll go dl that. My 99 cent trial ran out, and now Spotify is annoying. I might pop for the premium service for a couple months. I need any distractions and happiness I can get. Kinda pissed I haven't got into any more decent deals yet, though. I'm losing my touch, stuck here in bed ;)

$10.00 Spotify gift card for $5.00

I sprung for a month a back around the 7th. Stuck here, I figured I deserved it. Plus, I already have Amazon Prime video, and I'm using Paladin's Netflix & Plex server, so no expenses there.

Gonna buy one, that's a month for half price. Might get two, but I'll probably cheap out and let it expire Dec 7th.

I like Spotify but never pay for it. I don't use it much anyway. When I do I just the free service.

I rarely stream music. I play all my music from MP3's on my phone.
I do like streaming talk shows and podcasts though and I use TuneIn Radio on Android. FANTASTIC app. It also lets you record what you are listening to.

The iHeart radio is good for any of their stations around the country. Those are not available on TuneIn Radio app as iHeart obviously only licenses their content on their own app.
That is about the only things that are not on TuneIn Radio.

iHeart has stations like Sirius does. So you can tune into a led Zepplin or Beatles station to only hear that stuff. Also has a build your own "Mix tape" (station) option. I never really tried any of those. Honestly I only use it for the 24/7 comedy station and for listening to DVE (morning show) while away from a radio.

I highly recommend TuneIN radio though.

My mp3 player locked up, and my phone is best used as a phone. A cheap model. Didn't mess with it much prior to hospitalization, so I don't have music on it. Tablet memory got wiped when I upgraded the OS a month or two back.

I might be interested in upgrading my phone. It's my only phone now, no more landline. Might send you some links one day to a couple models I can get. Bought a year's worth of service for$50 a little while back, I like this provider for price and reception in my area. The service will transfer to the new phone if I upgrade.

I have no music besides Android streaming apps and YouTube right now. Thought I needed and deserved commercial free Spotify to get me through. Radio is great, but the music I want when I want it is more important.

Gonna buy one of those gift cards. Should get me through the worst of my colectomy recovery, and maybe most of the way to my back surgery. I should buy two of them.

I just found out that if you use your browser to play Spotify, then adblockers will stop the advertisements. Nifty!

I used the app in Android. Wonder if I could use Spotify on my tablet in a browser and not have to sit on that page. In other words, I wonder if I can play spotify in one browser window and surf while listening.

I have to get my music on my tablet and get an app that will play it in the background. Not a priority, but something I should look into.

Of course you can stream something in a browser then do something else. Even launch other apps. Android multitasks.

Only a limit if it is programmed not to allow it or not programmed correctly.

You should be able to play via the app and then use others as well as it plays in the background.

When using my tablet, I had to do something special to play Youtube videos in the background while I surfed in Firefox. I think I had to DL a plugin, don't remember now. I asked for your help on that. Made me wonder, if I can't stream Youtube in the background without fiddling with the browser, will I be able to stream Spotify in the background?

I still can't play a Youtube video in the background in Chrome,in my tablet.

The App, OF COURSE, plays in the background. There's a reason why I don't want to use the Spotify app. It's the whole reason why I made the post.

I quite like iHeartradio myself. Works well with amazon's alexa units as well as on a smartphone. I've pitched all the old radios around here. Great for a talk show fan like myself.
